# Eye on Data mobile application

# Installing

We recommend using the Eye on Data mobile application through the Google Chrome browser application.

If you wish, you can install the Eye on Data application on your device so that it can be started from your home screen. You can do this by clicking the 'Install Eye on Data' icon in the Chrome browser.

Open Chrome on your Android device. Go to .mobile.eyeondata.eu Tap Install. (Menu at the top right > Add to home screen)

Follow the instructions on the screen.

# Updating

# Android

The mobile app is updated automatically. You can check the version by clicking the bell.

If the update fails, the cache of the Eye on Data app on your phone can be cleared (Android):

  1. Open Settings (and select Storage).
  2. In the list, tap the item Apps (Other apps on Android 11 and earlier). This takes you to a list of all apps installed on your phone.
  3. Choose the app "Eye on Data".
  4. On the app's information page, go to Storage and click the option Clear cache.

# Clearing the cache

Chrome:

Close the browser completely Open the browser again Tap Menu Tap Settings. Tap Privacy. Tap Clear browsing data. Tick Clear the cache and Clear cookies, site data Tap Clear.

Safari:

Clearing the cache through Settings: Open the Settings app on your iPhone. Scroll down and tap Safari. Scroll down and select Clear history and website data. Confirm your choice by tapping Clear history and data in the pop-up.

# Features

On the home screen you can find tasks that have been assigned to you or your team.

# Consulting information

The following information can be found through a task on the home screen:

  • Name and description
  • Project
  • Address
  • Planned start and end time
  • Required material, type and quantity
  • Location and remarks, for example regarding access
  • Contact details
  • Navigating to all project information

Through Projects at the bottom of the menu you can look up all details of a project and previous tasks.

The following information can be found in the project information:

  • Name and description
  • Links, for example navigating to the MS Teams folder of the project
  • Contacts
  • Locations
  • Devices
  • Reports with type, moment in time and user
  • Job types
  • Favourite media

# Completing a task

By clicking the task you navigate to the form. At the top you can find the description and the linked media; these are read-only and can therefore not be edited or deleted.

While filling in the form it is possible to add comments or media. In addition, next to the measurement you can click a trend icon to show the history in a chart.

# General remark

At the bottom of the menu you can find remarks, so that you can add a general remark to the task, with or without an image.

In various places in the mobile application you can find locations of a project.

Navigation Next to the location you will find an icon to start navigation. You are given the choice to navigate to the location through Google Maps (c) or Waze (c), and to save that choice for your user. For navigation we give preference to GPS coordinates rather than the address.

Note that this function only works if you have installed the app on your device.

In your personal settings you can change your navigation preference.

# Time tracking

When a task is started, time tracking is started automatically in the background. You can stop and start the timer several times by clicking the icon at the top.

Before you submit, you get an overview with the time tracking information. You can still adjust it:

  • Start and end
  • Type, e.g. maintenance, transport, etc.
  • User, set to your user name by default

Note that you can easily duplicate your time registrations and assign them to another user, for example when you completed a task together with a colleague.

# Apple iOS (c)

The Eye on Data mobile app supports Apple iOS (c) up to 2 versions back. Certain new features are not supported by older versions.

# Photos in HEIF format

Some mobile devices allow you to save space by taking photos in HEIF (High Efficiency Image Format) mode. Eye on Data does not support this format. You therefore have to switch off the "High efficiency photos" option in the camera settings.

System settings -> camera -> Formats: you can change 'High Efficiency' to 'Most Compatible'.

If you already have tasks in the queue whose photos cannot be sent, you have to clear the cache on your device.

# Display of data

If the data in the app is displayed very small, the Chrome desktop version option is active.

Navigate to the Chrome app and browse to the URL of the mobile application, go to settings and untick "Desktop site".
