# Projects
A project can be an installation or an activity that you want to follow up in the Eye on Data platform.
# General
- Name
- Description: extra information such as a reference number
- Company: customer, supplier or your own organisation (internal) to which this project is linked.
- Contacts: list of external guest users
- Employees: list of internal users
- Locations: list of locations
- Tags: free tags that can be assigned in order to filter projects.
- Favourite media: media objects in storage that are marked with a star are shown here. This can be handy for, for example, access information, schematics or other media that has to be available quickly.
# Devices
Devices linked to the project are shown in a tree structure with the details on the right-hand side.
It is also possible to add a new device or a folder to the structure. In addition, an existing device can be moved to the project.

# Availability
Calendar view of when this project (installation, production line, etc.) is available for planning tasks.
# Settings
# How do you add a project?
Follow the steps below to add a new project in Eye on Data:
Navigate to the "Projects" module From the dashboard, click the menu and select the option Projects.
Click the "Add" button In the projects overview you will find the Add button. Click it to create a new project.
Fill in the following information:
Name: give the project a clear and unique name.
Description: add a description for the project. This can provide extra context about the purpose or scope of the project, or a unique reference you want to search on later.
Company: select or enter the company the project is carried out for.
Contacts: add existing users, or create a new user by clicking New user, or Import an existing one.
Employees: link employees to the project by adding existing users or importing new users.
Locations: add one or more locations the project relates to.
Tags: add relevant tags to make the project easier to find within the system.
Save Once all fields have been filled in, click the Save button to save the project.
The project has now been added and you can manage it further through the projects dashboard in Eye on Data.
# How do you delete a project?
Follow these steps to delete a project in Eye on Data:
Navigate to the "Projects" module Go to the main menu and click the option Projects to view the overview of all projects.
Find the project you want to delete Use the search function at the top of the screen to find the specific project you want to delete. Type the name or part of the name of the project to filter quickly.
Select the project Once you have found the desired project in the list, look at the right-hand side of the row. Here you will see several icons.
Click the bin icon Find the bin icon next to the project and click it. This opens a confirmation window to confirm that you want to delete the project.
Confirm the deletion In the confirmation window you normally get the option to confirm that you want to delete the project. Click Yes or Confirm to complete the deletion of the project.
Check the list After you have deleted the project, you can return to the overview to check that the project is no longer in the list.
Please note
Deleting a project is an irreversible action. Make sure you select the right project before you confirm that you want to delete it.
# How do you deactivate a project?
Follow these steps to deactivate a project in Eye on Data:
Navigate to the "Projects" module Go to the main menu and click the option Projects to view the overview of all projects.
Find the project you want to deactivate Use the search function at the top of the screen to find the specific project you want to deactivate. Type the name or part of the name of the project to filter quickly.
Select the project Once you have found the desired project in the list, look at the right-hand side of the row. Here you will see a toggle button under the Active column.
Click the toggle button Click the toggle button to deactivate the project. As soon as you do this, a confirmation window appears informing you that the project will be deactivated.
Check the active alarm rules and workflows In the confirmation window you are asked to check the following steps:
Active alarm rules: make sure you deactivate or delete the active alarm rules of this project. Active workflows: complete all active workflows linked to this project.
Confirm the deactivation After confirming the steps, click Yes or Confirm to complete the deactivation of the project.
Check the list After you have deactivated the project, you can return to the overview to check that the status of the project is now shown as Inactive.
# How do I add an employee to a project?
Follow these steps to add employees and contacts to a project in Eye on Data:
Adding employees Navigate to the "Projects" module Go to the main menu and click Projects to view the overview of all projects.
Select the project Find the project you want to add employees to. Click the project to open the project details.
Go to the "General" tab In the project details you will see several tabs. Click the General tab.
Scroll to the "Employees" section Under the General tab, find the Employees section.
Click "Add existing user" In the employees section, click the dropdown and select Add existing user. This opens a list of available users.
Select an employee Choose the employee you want to add to the project and confirm your choice. The employee is now linked to the project.
# How do I add a contact to a project?
Follow these steps to add contacts to a project in Eye on Data:
Navigate to the "Projects" module Go to the main menu and click Projects to view the overview of all projects.
Select the project Find the project you want to add contacts to and click it to open the project details.
Stay in the "General" tab Make sure you stay in the General tab in order to manage the relevant information.
Scroll to the "Contacts" section Find the Contacts section under the General tab.
Click "Add existing user" In the contacts section, click the dropdown and select Add existing user. This opens a list of available users.
Select a contact Choose the contact you want to add to the project and confirm your choice. The contact is now linked to the project.
Check the links After adding contacts you can review the list again to check that they are linked correctly to the project.
Creating new contacts If you want to create a new contact, fill in the following details:
First name (required) Last name (required) Job title E-mail address (required) Phone User name (composed automatically based on first name and last name) Address Preferred language: the language the reports are sent in.
Remark
In the background, the guest role is assigned automatically to new contacts. A default password is set automatically, which is configurable in the settings of your organisation.
